Mr. Sutherlin serves as President and Chief Executive Officer and Director of Joy Global, Inc. Prior to assuming these duties, he was Chief Executive Officer of the Joy Mining Machinery division.
Prior to joining Joy Global Inc. in 2003, Mr. Sutherlin was President and Chief Operating Officer of Varco International, Inc., a predecessor company to National Oilwell Varco, Inc. and then a $2 billion manufacturer of equipment for the global oil and gas drilling industry.
Mr. Sutherlin served the oil and gas industry as a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the National Ocean Industries Association and the Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association, where he was Chairman of the International Operations Committee. He is also a contributing author to World Energy magazine, and is currently a member of the National Coal Council and the World Coal Institute. Mr. Sutherlin is also a director and member of the Executive Committee of the National Mining Association.
Mr. Sutherlin holds a master's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a dual bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University.
In addition to his duties at Joy Global, Mr. Sutherlin is a member of the Board of Directors of Tesco Corporation, a Calgary, Canada based company that specializes in advanced drilling technology.
Edward L. Doheny
President and COO, Joy Mining Machinery, EVP, Joy Global Inc.
Mr. Doheny has global responsibility for the company's underground mining machinery business. Prior to joining Joy Global Inc. in May 2006, Mr. Doheny spent 20 years with Ingersoll-Rand. While there he held a variety of senior executive positions, both domestic and international, including President of the Air Solutions Group, President of Shared Services and most recently as President of Industrial Technologies. Ted holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering from Cornell University and a Masters degree in Management from Purdue University.
Sean D. Major
Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Mr. Major is responsible for Joy Global's legal affairs, including its two primary business units, P&H Mining and Joy Mining. Prior to joining Joy Global, he was employed by Johnson Controls, Inc., holding roles with increasing legal responsibility since 1998. Mr. Major was a corporate officer and most recently served as Assistant General Counsel & Assistant Secretary of Johnson Controls, Inc. Mr. Major started his in house career with Abbott Laboratories as Counsel International after working for seven years in private practice with law firms in Chicago and Tokyo. Mr. Major earned his bachelor's degree in Economics from DePauw University, his juris doctor degree from Indiana University, and his masters of business administration from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Mark E. Readinger
President and COO, P&H Mining Equipment, EVP, Joy Global Inc.
As President and Chief Operating Officer of P&H Mining Equipment, Mr. Readinger has global responsibility for the company's surface mining machinery business. He rejoined the company in December 2002. Mr. Readinger recently served as President and CEO of Armillaire Technologies, a high-tech communications equipment company. Prior to that, he was President and COO of Joy Mining Machinery, President and COO of Beloit Corporation and spent time with Texas Instruments and TRW. His prior assignments with Joy Global provide him with a thorough understanding of the company's life cycle management strategy and a strong commitment to lowering the customers' cost of operation. Mr. Readinger holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an M.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Louisville. He was a White House Fellow and Special Assistant to the President for Domestic and Economic Policy during 1988 and 1989.
Dennis R. Winkleman
Executive Vice President, Human Resources
Dennis R. Winkleman has global responsibility for all HR functions including staffing, compensation, benefits, organizational development and effectiveness, employee and labor relations, health and safety, and internal communications. He was appointed Executive Vice President in May 2000. Much of Mr. Winkleman's 30 years of human resource experience has been focused on helping organizations manage turn-around, transition and restructuring. Winkleman received a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Gettysburg College.
